Nonprofits and foundations: stories that end in a donation, not a dead end

A nonprofit’s website is full of stories, but rarely tells a moved visitor what to do next. Enéh’s nonprofit mode tells your campaign stories in conversation and ends them with your own donation channels — bank transfer, QR code, online giving and the Hungarian 1% tax designation.

A volunteer kneeling beside a happy rescued dog in a sunny shelter yard

A visitor reads about a rescued dog on your website. They are moved, they want to help — and then they have to find the bank account number in the footer, guess what to write in the transfer note, and wonder whether a small amount even matters. Many give up somewhere along the way. Not because they didn’t care, but because nobody showed them the next step at the moment they cared most.

That is the gap Enéh’s nonprofit mode is built for. It is available on every plan, and it turns your assistant from a FAQ answerer into something closer to a good volunteer at an information stand: someone who tells the story and then says, warmly and clearly, here is how you can help.

Your campaigns, told in conversation

You write your campaigns yourself in the Enéh dashboard — or point it at an existing page on your website and it drafts one for you to edit. Each campaign has a short story, a concrete ask (“1,000 HUF = 4 days of food for Blacky”), suggested amounts and a link to read more.

One campaign can be featured: it opens the chat with a gentle teaser. Others come up naturally when they fit the conversation. A campaign goes live as soon as you save it — no waiting for anyone.

The Négy Mancs foundation’s assistant thanks a visitor who read Blacky’s story, explains that 1,000 Ft buys four days of food, and shows a donation card with bank account, beneficiary, 1% tax number, a QR code and a Donate online button (demo data)

The donation card: every way to give, in one place

When a visitor asks how they can help, the assistant shows a donation card with the channels you entered:

  • Bank transfer — beneficiary name and account number, ready to copy.

  • A QR code for banking apps — scanned with a Hungarian bank app, it pre-fills the transfer.

  • Online giving — a button to your own donation page.

  • Your 1% tax number — for the personal income tax designation (more on that below).

The 1% season

In Hungary, taxpayers can direct 1% of their personal income tax to a registered civil organisation — at no cost to themselves. For many foundations it is one of the most important sources of income, but it depends on people remembering to do it, and knowing how.

From January until the 20 May deadline, the assistant reminds visitors about the designation and explains the steps, with your tax number on the card. Outside the season it stays quiet about it. Because it costs the donor nothing, it is often the easiest “yes” a supporter can give.

All the other questions, too

Donations are only part of what supporters ask. “How does adoption work?” “Can I volunteer at weekends?” “Do you accept blankets and dry food?” “When can we visit?” The assistant answers these from your approved information, just like for any business — and passes anything sensitive to a real person.

A tone that fits a cause

A nonprofit’s assistant should never sound like a sales funnel. It asks once, gently, and respects a “not now”. It thanks people. And it can share an impact line you provide — “this year we have rescued 126 dogs” — so visitors see that their help adds up to something real.

What to measure

  1. How often the donation card was shown, and which campaign led to it.

  2. Clicks to your online donation page.

  3. Questions about the 1% designation during the season.

  4. Adoption, volunteering and in-kind donation enquiries passed to your team.

Meet Blacky

Négy Mancs is our demo animal-rescue foundation, with three campaigns and a donation card (all account numbers are fictional). Ask about Blacky, or how to give your 1%. Open the nonprofit demo, or request a demo for your organisation.
